WEIRD USES OF A CONSERVATORY/OUTBUILDING

When you need extra space and you want to enjoy the light and comfort it can bring, a conservatory or outbuilding is one of the best things that you can add to your home. Conservatories and orangeries are a great way to add another room to the house without having to sell up and buy a new one again and the best thing about them is how versatile they are. You can use them as dining rooms, playrooms, an office or simply a space to sit in the quiet as the sun rises and enjoy that morning coffee in your favourite armchair.
SOMETHING DIFFERENT
These are all the usual ways to use a conservatory/outbuilding and if you are a fan of those, then go for it. However, there are people out there who prefer the more unusual design for their conservatory or orangery. Conservatory designs don’t have to be for extra dining spaces and playrooms; especially when you can branch out even further than that. Ideally, you can make your conservatory stand out from the rest, and here’s a few of the ways that you can use your newly built conservatory:
LOUNGE.
You may already have a room in your home to use as a lounge, but that doesn’t mean you have to. A conservatory is the perfect space for a living room, because it’s so brightly lit. You could even choose to extend the flooring in your current lounge to the new conservatory and use it as an extended wing of the lounge that you already have. Families expand; which means that you need the space for new seating!
GAMES ROOM.
You may have once chosen to use the conservatory as a playroom for the kids – a perfectly usual way to use it. However, you could choose to then fill it with a pool table or air hockey table and even those large arcade games. It could be the quiet retreat your house needs for the rowdy teenager those children have grown into.
INDOOR GARDEN.
Bringing the outside in is one thing, but if you have a green thumb you can use your conservatory as an indoor garden. The constant stream of light can help your garden grow and it could be a sanctuary for you.
TEA ROOM.
There is nothing better than being sociable, is there? With a tea room in your home that is separate from the kitchen and dining space, you can host your guests in a classy and stylish way. Dress it up with bone china crockery and smaller tables and take some pride in your unusual design.
OFFICE.
Not the most exciting way to use a conservatory, but think about how all that natural light can really help you while you’re working! There’s nothing motivational about an office that sits dingy and dark, so sitting where the light floods in and you can see straight outside is often far better than being holed up in a spare room.
A conservatory can be used in any way that you can think of – you just have to think outside the box.
